Ambunti Health Centre

The Level 3 Ambunti Health Centre is located in rural East Sepik Province. Asian Development Bank and the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade have again partnered with the PNG Government to build this much needed structure.

There are two main health centre facilities which include birthing suites, neonatal suites, a TB Isolation Ward, Dentistry department, radiology, pathology and an Accident & Emergency facility. A Mothers’ Waiting house, TB Infectious Patients’ Transit house, sixteen staff houses as well as a Family Support Centre are included in the build.

A kitchen/laundry block and a cook house support the main facilities. There are also electric and rural incinerators, a generator shed, maintenance workshop and a guard post shed.

A 626m fence surrounds the perimeter. Concrete has been used for a 490m line drain, 860m² of footpaths and a 800m² edge beam and driveways.

With Verticon as sub-contractor to Pacific Development Contractors Ltd, the construction was successfully completed and handed back to the National Department of Health.
