Mabudawan Health Centre

The Level 3 Mabudawan Health Centre is located in rural Western Province. Built through the government’s partnership with Asian Development Bank and the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, it is the first of its kind in Papua New Guinea.

The main Health Centre facility includes birthing suites, a neonatal ward, TB isolation ward, Dentistry department, radiology, pathology and an Accident & Emergency facility. The Mothers’ Waiting house, TB Infectious Patients’ Transit house, eleven staff houses as well as a Guardians’ Amenities block surround the main health centre.

There are both electric and rural incinerators together with a generator shed. A laundry block and cook house complete the buildings.

A 550m fence surrounds the perimeter. Concrete has been used for a 300m line drain, 900m² of footpaths and a 479m² edge beam and driveways. Finally, a 128m² retaining stone wall has been built.

As the sub-contractor to Pacific Development Contractors Ltd, Verticon has proudly completed this important health facility.
